Gearing up for her next iconic female lead, Angelina Jolie has signed on to star in "Gertrude Bell," a biopic about a pioneering figure in the Middle East.

Under the possible direction of Ridley Scott, the project will be developed with his Scott Free Productions, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
