CAREY Mulligan- learned a lot when she was working on stage at the start of this year.

The Oscar-nominated British actress — who played Nina in Anton Chekhovplay The Seagul – learned a lot when she was working on stage at the start of this year.
“I learned quite a few lessons about self-indulgent acting when I was doing the play,” she said.
“I used to do shows where I thought I was really brilliant and I’d come off stage and the audience were completely unresponsive.
“I got a million notes from my director.”
Carey — who stars alongside Michael Douglas and boyfriend Shia LaBeoufin the new Wall Street movie — says she feels fortunate to be enjoying a successful acting career.
“I love it so much, I’m so lucky and I do want to tell nice stories,” she said.
“My escape is probably as important as allowing the audience to escape.”
